A 20 year tradition of tree planting continued this week in Bracebridge.
On Thursday evening, youth from First and Third Bracebridge Scouting were busy at Annie Williams Park.
Led by former-Scouter Tony Armstrong, 35 Scouting youth and Scouters from both groups planted almost 20 trees in the park again this year.
“It’s part of our way to give back to the community,” says Armstrong, who walked the youth through the correct planting techniques before letting them loose with shovels and buckets.
“It’s always amazing watching a Scout come to the park and realize a full-grown tree is one that they planted 10 years ago as a Beaver,” explains Scouter Diana MacDonald.
