Township of Muskoka Lakes officials say they are excited to announce the release of a new CivicWeb Portal.
The Township has been actively working with the technology leader to implement the portal in an effort to improve public access to information and enhance the quality and timeliness of communications, as identified in the Township’s 2015-2018 Strategic Plan. The portal is now live and can be accessed on the Township’s website www.muskokalakes.ca.
The automated web portal will allow the public to have access to timely updates from their local government, including information for all Committee and Council meetings such as agendas, minutes and by-laws while providing a user friendly interface. Residents and visitors can use the calendar to find an upcoming or previous meeting, sign up to get e-updates about meetings that matter to you, search e-resources on a specific topic and read agendas and minutes.
The portal also comes with an advanced search engine that will help citizens easily locate Municipal Council actions and decisions, and search through the Township’s archives for information.
As included in the Township’s 2015-2018 Strategic Plan, the new CivicWeb Portal supports the objective of redeveloping website layout and content to improve ease of navigation and enhance search engine functions.
“It is extremely important that we provide up-to-date information from Council to our community online,” says Township of Muskoka Lakes CAO Steve McDonald. “This resource will enhance Council communications making the Township more open, transparent and accessible for the public.”
The portal will develop further over time as more resources are added online. Residents are encouraged to access the portal by going to the Township’s website www.muskokalakes.ca and clicking on the CivicWeb Portal link.
