The 2017 Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament Committee is proud to announce the 2017 tournament has raised a record $56,036.79 for local healthcare organizations in Huntsville.
Christine’s Place, Muskoka Women’s Advocacy Group, Fairvern and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation were presented with cheques November 6th at a Media event held in Partners Hall.
“The support we’ve received from the Mayor’s Golf Tournament will allow us to continue providing necessary services for women and their children who have experienced violence. We’re incredibly grateful to be one of the recipients of these funds.” Rachel Walker – Executive Director Muskoka Women’s Advocacy Group.
Dr Laura Lewis echoed the sentiments on behalf of Christine’s Place, “The organization is extremely grateful for the generosity and support of the Huntsville community and the Mayor’s office. The funds received from the Mayor’s Golf Tournament will help us to continue to be an important part of the community safety net, providing compassionate and practical help to anyone challenged by an unplanned pregnancy.”
The 2017 Mayor’s Golf Tournament was held September 7th at the Clublink Mark O’Meara Golf Course in Huntsville with one hundred and sixteen attendees and thirty-six local business sponsors. “This year’s tournament was the most successful tournament to date,” said Mayor Scott Aitchison. “I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who came out and played as well as the thirty-six sponsors and their generous support.”
