A fire engulfed a two story home on Dee Bank Road early this morning in Windermere, causing an estimated $450,000 in damages.
At 1:19am the Muskoka Lakes Fire Department was dispatched to 1155 Dee Bank Rd for a fully involved structure fire.
Station 7 Windermere/Raymond, Station 6 Port Carling, and Station 9 Milford Bay responded. On arrival, the lone occupant was outside of the structure. He was seen to by Muskoka Paramedic Services and transported to South Muskoka Memorial Hospital for assessment.
The structure was a two story 2,500 square foot home.
On arrival, the structure was fully involved.
Fire crews commenced a defensive operation to extinguish the fire.
Water tanker shuttle was establish shed to ensure adequate water supply for extinguishment. At the time of this report crews continue to extinguish the fire.
The fire will be investigated in due course. Estimated Fire loss at this time is $450,000.
