A Snow squall warning is currently in effect for:
- Bracebridge – Gravenhurst
- Huntsville – Baysville
- Port Carling – Port Severn
- Town of Parry Sound – Rosseau – Killbear Park
Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.
Snow squalls coming in a stiff and cold westerly flow off Georgian Bay may dump a quick 15 cm of snow this afternoon.
A cold front from Northeastern Ontario will move through early this evening, pushing the snow squalls to the south of the area.
This snow squall warning replaces a snowfall warning that was previously sent in error.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
Snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
