On January 05, 2018 members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a robbery at a bank in the City of Orillia.
At approximately 3:43 pm a lone male entered the Scotiabank branch located at 3305 Monarch Drive in the City of Orillia. The male stated he had a firearm although one was not observed. After a brief encounter the male fled the bank in an unknown direction or mode of travel.
The male is described as:

- Male between 18-25 years old
- 5’10” -6′-2″
- Thin build.
- Wearing blue jeans and a black coat.
