A very welcome influx of funding to the tune of over $7.1 million was delivered to Muskoka and Parry Sound by the Federal Liberals today.
Navdeep Bains, Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and the Minister responsible for FedNor made the announcement this afternoon at the Muskoka Airport.
The money will support 12 projects being led by organizations including Muskoka Futures, Lofthouse Manufacturing, Muskoka Rock Company, Crofters Food Ltd., Muskoka North Good Food Co-Op, LB Huntsville Brewhouse, Parry Sound Area Community Business and Development Centre, Muskoka Steamship and Historical Society, Trestle Brewery, Regional Tourism Organization 12 Parry Sound/Muskoka, The Network Gravenhurst and the Township of Armour.
Bains told an enthusiastic crowd that the money will support these initiatives, which are helping fuel the region’s economy to create more middle class jobs for hard working Canadians:
Paul Dunnett, Chair of Muskoka Futures, says the investment “highlights the important role the Government of Canada plays in advancing innovation and helping businesses develop, expand and leverage new technologies to enhance their service offerings and create jobs.”
