It’s official – Bracebridge councillor Lori-Lynn Giaschi-Pacini has filed her papers to run for Mayor.
In a press release, Giaschi-Pacini states the following:
“Since 2006, I have been a strong voice for taxpayers of both Bracebridge and Muskoka at both the District and Town of Bracebridge levels of government. In my crucial role as advocate, acting on behalf of my constituents, I recognize the importance of listening, (digging deep to research and consider) all facts before debating any issue. My experience brings with it a rapport with Councillors and earned respect at the discussion table.
In building for our future we need to focus on:
Campaigning for our Hospital
Attraction and Retention of Businesses
Creation of Attainable and Sustainable Housing
Construction of New and Existing Development
Controlled Spending and Borrowing
Protecting our Environment
Retaining Muskoka Character and Charm that attracts newcomers;
Before it is too late, we need to confirm the importance of what makes Bracebridge great and take steps to put in place to retain and sustain our small town image, while at the same time attracting opportunities for development and business growth to service and employ our residents and investors.
I am a native of Bracebridge and after living in Toronto for 20 years, I realize more than ever how fortunate we are to live and love this piece of paradise. I will work hard toensure the enhancement of the quality of life while retaining our character, culture and history of the area by making sure that it is still viable and valued for future generations.”
I welcome the opportunity to speak to any individual or groups, she adds.
