The fifth annual What’s Cooking Bracebridge – The Great Muskoka Cookbook Adventure schedule has been released.
New this year, these unique experiences are being held throughout the 2018 fall season. This series will be of interest to both foodies, and those who just love to eat. The series of events kicks off on September 12, 2018 with Laura Gilmour of Wild Muskoka Botanicals who will be hosting a workshop on Amazing Elderberries. In this workshop, Laura will walk participants through the steps of learning to identify and grow Black Elderberry, its culinary and medicinal uses and show everyone how to make Elderberry Syrup. Participants will go home with a sample from the class, the recipe and the knowledge to make it at home. To help get you back into the fall routine, cookbook author, Emily Richards, will be back in town for the 4th consecutive year. Emily will be hosting a session providing you with some tips and tricks on how to get week night dinners on the table more efficiently. The class will take place at the Creative Cook in Downtown Bracebridge on September 15, 2018.
Firefighter and Chef, Patrick Mathieu is a very passionate foodie and self-taught chef who followed in his French-Canadian family’s traditions of firefighting and cooking from the heart. The weekend of September 28-30, 2018, Patrick Mathieu, the Firehouse Chef, will be cooking up a storm in Bracebridge. From Steakhouse at Home to a French Brunch, this is a weekend you won’t want to miss.
For the past four years Bracebridge has been honoured to host special guest, Matt Basile creator of street-food brand, Fidel Gastro’s and host of the TV show ‘Rebel without a Kitchen”. This year, Chef Matt Basile returns with something new, and equally as mouth-watering – a brunch! He has recently released his new book, ‘Brunch Life’, showcasing his never-ending culinary talents.
The What’s Cooking team will also be offering two culinary walking tours in Downtown Bracebridge on October 20, 2018 and November 17, 2018. Each walking tour will invite you to sip, snack and stroll your way through our beautiful Downtown while visiting many of our restaurants.
To wrap-up the fall What’s Cooking Bracebridge season, and prepare you for the upcoming holiday season. Signe Langford is holding a Holiday Brunch Class on Sunday November 18th, at The Creative Cook in Downtown Bracebridge.
